PEARS - AHA Paediatric Assessment Recognition and-Stabilisation
Healthcare Provider Courses
During PEARS, students interact with real patient cases, and realistic simulations to assess and stabilize paediatric patients experiencing respiratory and shock emergencies, and cardiopulmonary arrest. PEARS prepares students to provide appropriate lifesaving interventions within the initial minutes of response until a child can be transferred to an advanced life support provider.
- Systematic paediatric assessment and basic airway management.
- Recognition and stabilisation of respiratory emergencies.
- Recognition and stabilisation of shock paediatric emergencies.
- Recognition and stabilisation of cardiac arrest.
- Resuscitation team concept.
Participants are required to complete a multiple-choice examination on the first day of the course, achieving a minimum mark of 84%. Furthermore, they must pass a practical assessment on the second day.
