CPR & First Aid Courses

Target Group

Members of the public who do not require to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Course Objectives

The Level 1 Emergency Care has been designed to provide training in emergency life-saving skills for the workplace, as well as for the public. This training covers a basic range of trauma and medical emergencies, preparing anyone to respond appropriately to an emergency or accident. The curricula covers CPR and choking, the management of bleeding, burns, shock, heart attack, stroke, hypo/hyperthermia, diabetes, epilepsy and other causes of unconsciousness, fractures and splinting.

Duration

20 hours – including the practical evaluation and a written examination.
The duration of the course can be shortened slightly for small groups with some first aid background.

Certification

Both practical skills assessment and a written examination are facilitated to ensure competencies are achieved. The certificate is valid for 3 years.
Our Level 1 Emergency Care course is HPCSA accredited. HPCSA candidates will earn 18 CPD points and 2 Ethics points on successful completion of the course.

Refresher Course

We offer a Level 1 refresher course which is 8 hours long. Your level 1 certificate must still be in date, (three months before expiry) or you can do a level 2 course.
