Target Group and Pre-Requisites 

The course is suited to all levels of registered professional rescuers (Doctors, nurses, and pre-hospital personnel from the intermediate scope and above).
Valid AHA BLS for HCP card, RCSA CPR for Professionals or RCSA Advanced CPR for Professionals.

Course Content

The course provides a comprehensive overview of high-quality Basic Life Support (BLS), covering key aspects such as airway management and ventilation techniques using adjuncts and supraglottic airway devices. Participants learn the proper use of a manual defibrillator and gain skills in identifying and managing reversible causes of cardiac arrest. Pharmacological interventions during cardiac arrest are also discussed, along with the management of post-cardiac arrest situations (ROSC). Additionally, the course delves into the ethical considerations surrounding resuscitation efforts. It's important to note that the training does not include instruction on managing dysrhythmias (bradycardia and tachycardia), Acute Coronary Syndromes, or Stroke. Individuals seeking training in these areas are encouraged to enroll in an AHA ACLS course.

Duration

The Advanced CPR for Professionals course is a 1-day interactive contact session with a blend of theoretical and practical components. 

Certification

All participants who successfully complete the course will receive: 

• A RCSA endorsed course completion certificate.
• Accredited by the HPCSA, each participant will receive 12 CPD and 1 ethics point.
